John Durastanti is the Head of Business Development and Stragegy and Axon, the leading provider of conducted energy devices (Taser), Body Worn Cameras, and Software as a Solution products to law enforcement and DOD agencies. Mr. Durastanti is responsible for developing strategic initiatives, executing business development opportunities, and building executive relationships with Federal clients. Mr. Durastanti is also responsible for identifying, negotiating, and solidifying partnerships with other best-in-class solution companies. Mr. Durastanti also works closely with marketing and sales personnel to develop win strategies and influences and guides the development of innovative technological solutions.
Mr. Durastanti transitioned from the Deputy Assistant Director for Field Operations – West/Southwest Border. In this position, Mr. Durastanti oversaw ATF’s regulatory and enforcement operations for the western region and all matters associated with the trafficking of firearms to Mexico. Mr. Durastanti also oversaw the Firearms Operations Division, which includes the NIBIN (National Integrated Ballistic Information Network) National Correlation and Training Center and the national NIBIN program. Mr. Durastanti also served on the National Crime Gun Intelligence Governing Board chairing the subcommittee on outreach and feedback. Mr. Durastanti served as a member of the IACP Homeland Security Subcommittee.
Mr. Durastanti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University and a Master of Professional Studies in Safety and Security Leadership from The George Washington University. Mr. Durastanti also served as an Associate Professor at Arizona State University teaching courses in crime control strategy.
